A TMBG FAQ

"Why did you motility your shows?"

Later some long discussions with our management and booking agent, we realized we could not maintain a consistently safe surroundings for ii-plus months equally a traveling band and coiffure this leap. In rescheduling to this summertime, fall, and beyond we believe we accept addressed many of the issues to get united states of america safely and smartly back on the road.

Our plan for the rescheduling of these 43 shows is to break them up into shorter chunks with fourth dimension off in betwixt chunks to preserve the viability of scheduled shows in general. Our previous plan relied on everything going perfectly beyond the U.s.a. and within our touring grouping for months at a time. Traveling for shorter, more regional stretches will create a touring scenario where if things were to get sideways, either in a region affected past a variant or inside the walls of our tour bus, individual shows can be made up in due class without restructuring the entire run of a tour.

ABOUT THE MINK Machine SHOWS
To proceed things festive They Might Be Giants' will also playing some shows with many selections from their notorious "lost" album, Mink Car. With tracks produced with Flood hitmakers Clive Langer & Alan Winstanley also equally Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, the anthology was filled with stand-out tracks like Bangs, Cyclops Rock, Homo It'south So Loud in Here, Older, She Thinks She'south Edith Caput, and, of grade, the title rails Mink Car. But the brilliant reception the album seemed destined to accept was not to be--Restless Records closed their doors for business organisation forever just weeks afterward the release date and the album'south rights were instantly entangled in that defalcation. Released just a year before the iPod and Napster musical revolutions and with the curious distinction of no physical albums in distribution, the album essentially disappeared. It would exist the start and only They Might Be Giants album to become out of impress.
